Process Outline

Final Process 1.   Apply cold cream to the face, except forehead where appliance will be. 2.   Latex Cut 1 . Draw outline of cut onto paper the size of your forehead.   The gash should not be huge. 2. Slide drawing into plastic sheet protector. 3.   Apply liquid latex with a sponge to the perimeter of the cut onto the plastic. 4.   Unravel a cotton ball and split it into 2 long sheets of cotton. 5.   Adhere the cotton to the latex following the shape of the cut you created. 6.   Apply a generous amount of latex to the cotton to cover it completely.   Reshape with   q-tips while still wet to achieve desired shape. 7.   Let dry about 20 minutes, or when completely dry. 8.   Apply second layer of latex to the dry layer. 9.   Let dry for 20 minutes, or when completely dry. 10.   When dry, use sponge to apply foundation evenly over the wound. 11.   ...

Colored Elevations

Ideally I'd put the wound on first, but it would not show through a  solid colored layer.  So wound and then color correct then foundation. Next, contouring to make it look like I have had a face lift by painting contour on at an angle.  Plus adding some aging marks. Over line lips and fill so they're huuuge. Fill in brows with pencil  Add purple eyeshadow on the lid. Blend pink shadow into the crease. Add mascara and lashes if I have a pair somewhere. Add black arrows to look like a surgeon has drawn them on.

I decided to do the bottom left design.  I think it captures an aging beauty queen in the middle of plastic surgery the best.

Wound Application!

Image
You know what time it is! Cold cream, hair back, and "costume" on! (Added cold cream everywhere but where the wound was going) Added spirit gum to the back and waited for it to get tacky. (This looks disgusting) Once tacky, I held the wound in place for a minute or two so it adhered to my face. Then, added foundation to my whole face. Went through the steps of bruising to add a bruise to my cheek. Really wanted to look BEAT so I added another  bruise to my forehead.  (Tried lighter bruises this time!) Next, added the red shades to the inside of the cut. Then, added the dark blue to the inside edges to  deepen the color. Finally added some fake blood for the cherry on top! Finished look Finished look part 2! For removal I took off the blood with a baby wipe,  used the spirit gum remover bit by bit to get the piece off. So next...

Colleen is an angel from above (latex cut)

Image
So let me start by saying Colleen is an ANGEL!! My liquid latex dried up in the bottle and she delivered some to me! Thank you Colleen!!! Ok back to the post. I started by sketching out my cut shape. Next, I put my sketch into my plastic sheet protector. Then, I put a layer of latex down to stick my unrolled cotton ball down. I added a layer of latex with my sponge. Smoothed out the edges with a q-tip and let it dry for 20 mins. Then added a second layer of latex. Let that dry for about 40 minutes. Once it was completely dry, I added foundation to  the wound. Next, I added the darkest color in my bruise wheel to the inside edges, and a little bit out on the rest of the piece. Then, I blended it out with my darkest foundation shade. Next, I added some of the red from the bruise wheel. Just a lil bit! I set it with powder, then removed it slowly, putting powder under it so it wont be ...

These Bruises Make for Better Conversation (Terrible Song)

Image
Beat up that sponge! Tore little pieces out of the sponge to make it more irregular. Sketched out my little bruise shape with my lip pencil. Brow pencil is MIA... Added some red for the outline, fresh bruise stage. Added depth by adding the darker red over top. Added the deep purple to the middle  "impact point". Added yellow to show the bruise had aged. It looks a lot more yellow here, but in person it  was not as yellow! Was I a little heavy handed? Yes.  Did I still manage to scare some friends and family with the last photo? Also yes.  So that is a win in my book!
